Mercy Hospital’s 4B Rehabilitation Unit cares for stroke and cardiac patients who need therapies to promote mobility and regain independence. With a “slower” pace and patients remaining in the unit for up to 14 days, caregivers are able to spend more time with their patients and really get to know them. Many of the discharged patients have come back to visit the unit as they are genuinely appreciative of the care they received. As an RN on the team, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience, provide healthcare education as needed, and ensure that they are equipped to leave the hospital care setting. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of current acute care RN experience.
  • Will consider military RN experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
