Requirements
- Credentials as a Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a current New York State license required
- Ability to supervise and collaborate effectively with other staff required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Maturity, professionalism, and a caring attitude toward residents required
- Physical stamina for consistent activity required
- Ability to meet established clinical standards of excellence required
- Demonstrated willingness to uphold Elderwood’s Core Values: Integrity, Teamwork, Passion for Excellence, and Reverence for the Individual
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a geriatric setting preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to residents in accordance with the care plan.
- Supervise and guide Nursing Assistants during assigned shifts.
- Monitor and document resident health changes, reporting to Unit Manager or Charge Nurse as needed.
- Administer medications and ensure proper storage and handling of controlled substances.
- Ensure all documentation is completed timely and accurately, including Nursing Notes, Medication and Treatment Records.
- Promote resident rights and advocate for preferences in care.
- Support a positive, team-oriented environment that promotes the health and well-being of all residents.
