Location: University of Oklahoma Medical Center Shift Available: Full Time (36 hours/week) 7a - 7p or 7p – 7a The Medicine Nephrology Unit consists of 22 beds. This unit is part of our new collaborative care model, where a grouping of ten patients is cared for by a team consisting of RN, LPN and a dedicated CTA. The unit is divided into two groupings or pods, to care for a medicine surgical patient population, with a focus of renal disease, acute dialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and all other medicine related diagnosis. There are also two dedicated comfort care/end of life suites, which are staffed with a dedicated concierge RN, providing care for the patient and family during the final stages of life. The Collaborative Care Model is an innovative new strategy dedicated to making sure that the Post Trauma unit has the right resources at the right place for our patients in a way that can be easily modified it to the patient's unique needs. In this model, a collaborative team made up of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Care Team Associate will be assigned to a certain number of patients. In addition to those primary roles, there will also be additional support staff of a direct care pharmacist, a phlebotomist, and an EVS (Environmental Services) attendant. This model puts all the right people in all the right places to give the best care we can to our patients. One (1) year of RN experience is preferred for this position.
