About The Position

POSITION PORPOSE Registered Nurse RN position that supports the Trinity Health Livingston Emergency Observation Unit. The Emergency Observation Unit monitors patients with cardiac and respiratory symptoms with specialized care. This position is a Part-Time, benefited opportunity scheduled 24 hour per week: 12-hour night shift (6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.) with a weekend and holiday rotation. WHAT YOU WILL DO Under limited supervision, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan. The RN interprets and performs complex patient-care procedures specific to their expertise. RNs are members of the Care Team and Support Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care. The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to those patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/technology, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards. Patients served include all age groups (Infant through Older Adults as identified in Performance Standards). Must maintain current with any required certifications, licensures, and/or any requirements for their current position 2. The employee must adhere to the following scheduling requirements: a. Work a minimum of forty-eight (48) out of fifty-two (52) weekends per year. The four weekends not worked must be requested in advance and have approval of the department. b. Requirements

• Current Michigan Nursing License
• Graduation from accredited nursing program: Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire.
• Satisfactorily complete the hospital and department orientation
• Demonstrate proficiency and knowledge in their department
• Must maintain current with any required certifications, licensures, and/or any requirements for their current position
