About The Position

University of Washington Medical Center-Northwest's Cardiac Procedure Unit (CPU) has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN). WORK SCHEDULE: 100% ‘days,’ 40 hours/weekly Three different shifts support the unit from 06:00-20:30 (10-hour shifts starting at 06:00, 08:30 & 10:00). Staff are required to be able to support two of the three shifts No 'Call' obligation DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: Located in North Seattle, the Heart Institute at UW Medical Center – Northwest provides a wide range of cardiac services, including early prevention, risk assessment and acute and chronic disease management. Our specialists are experienced in handling cardiovascular problems including hyperlipidemia, coronary and peripheral vascular disease, valvular and structural heart disease, hypertension, arrhythmias and heart failure. Services offered include ECGs, heart catheterization and interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, arrhythmia management, stress testing, echocardiography, anticoagulation services and cardiac rehabilitation. Advanced cardiology services are available at UW Medical Center – Montlake. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS: Conveniently located near public transportation Make a difference for the patients and employees we serve Opportunity to provide career growth PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide direct care to patients being admitted and recovered for procedures in the CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION, ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY and INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY Labs IV start, pre-procedure assessment and preparation, post-procedure recovery, access site management, and pre-post patient/family teaching prior to discharge or transfer to the inpatient departments Support cardioversions and transesophageal echocardiograms with Anesthesia and Cardiology providers REQUIREMENTS: Current license to practice as an RN in WA State by start date At least 2 years of cardiology (telemetry skills), prep-recovery or interventional radiology nursing experience Telemetry skills required; Sheath care skills strongly desired - training provided during onboarding BLS and ACLS certifications ABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-NORTHWEST UW Medical Center is an acute care hospital located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest. Requirements
