About The Position

The position is located in the Telemetry Stepdown Unit at UAB St. Vincent's East. Multiple shifts are available including Day Shift (7a-7p), Night Shift (7p-7a), and PRN (Rotating Day & Night Shifts). The role involves providing direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. The nurse will implement and monitor patient care plans, serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care, and assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
