This opportunity is full-time at 36 hours per week, offers full benefits and a night shift schedule. Wellington Regional Medical Center is located in Wellington, Florida. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • Current Florida state nursing license.
  • Certification in area of specialty preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in acute care specialty nursing.
  • One (1) to three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and/or required specialty training or course completion (current upon hire) as required by specialty.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • Experience in acute care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for coordinating the activities and providing clinical and administrative leadership and expertise in one or more defined areas of the facility.
  • Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members, directs and facilitates staff in obtaining safe, optimal health care outcomes.
  • Supports activities that meet the facility vision, mission and goals.
  • Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
  • Understands that patient-centered care provides the foundation for all nursing activities.
  • Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times.
  • Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead.
  • Verbalizes stroke alert process.
  • Responds to Inpatient Stroke Alerts, performs NIHSS and bedside swallow, documents as required.
  • Assists with telemedicine examination/evaluation of thrombolytic therapy inclusion/exclusion criteria.
  • Assists the ICU nurse mixing, administration and monitoring of thrombolytic therapy if patient deemed a candidate.
  • Preparation of patient for Endovascular treatment as indicated and assumes patient care of the inpatient stroke alert.
  • Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the NIHSS training and a minimum of 8 hours of stroke related training annually.
