About The Position

The Registered Nurse in Placement Services coordinates patient flow and inpatient capacity management in coordination with physicians and procedural units and inpatient nursing units. Ensures compliance with the directives, policies, applicable laws and regulations. This role is full-time, 36 hours weekly, 12 hours per shift, nights from 7 pm to 7 am. Shift differential applies to the night schedule. At least three (3) years of RN work experience is required. $10K Sign on bonus for eligible hires.

Requirements

  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)
  • Minimum of 3 years-Nursing (Required)
  • Minimum of 1 year-Managerial/Supervisory (Preferred)
  • Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates patient flow and inpatient capacity management in coordination with physicians and procedural units and inpatient nursing units.
  • Ensures compliance with directives, policies, applicable laws and regulations.
  • Serves as a strong role model in professional practice.
  • Supervises assigned personnel within Patient Placement.
  • Assists with the orientation and integration of new employees.
  • Communicates pertinent information regarding patient flow activities and operations to appropriate personnel.
  • Accountable for placement of all patients for all inpatient units utilizing defined unit specific admission criteria.
  • Participates in the formulation of nursing policies and goals.
  • Communicates and interprets policies, procedures and regulations to patients, visitors and staff members.
  • Monitors occupancy trends and proactively plans for next day elective admissions.
  • Carries out defined responsibilities in the disaster plan, cardiac arrest protocol, bomb threat, code orange and patient elopement procedures.
  • Supports Team Leaders and nursing staff in the advancement of their management skills.
  • Communicates pertinent information to administrator on call regarding capacity issues.
