About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Mount Carmel East is responsible for providing critical care to surgical patients in a 15-bay recovery unit. The role emphasizes patient safety, evidence-based practice, and collaboration with patients and families to develop comprehensive care plans. The RN will work in a fast-paced environment with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1, ensuring high-quality care and adherence to organizational standards.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• For Casual RNs, a minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
• New graduate nurses with less than one year of clinical experience must participate in the Nurse Residency Program.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in critical care or PACU settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care in the PACU, ensuring patient safety and promoting evidence-based practices.
• Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence-based practice.
• Collaborates with patients and families to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care.
• Accurately communicates pertinent information to team members in a timely manner.
• Documents assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with standards and policies.
• Assumes responsibility for care provided by other licensed and unlicensed caregivers.
