About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Neuromodulation Clinic at the University of Washington Medical Center-Northwest involves providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). This role supports an innovative program in behavioral health, focusing on outpatient services for patients with major depressive disorders and other mental health conditions. The RN will work in a collaborative environment, ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures, and will be part of a team dedicated to transforming mental health care.

Requirements

• 1 year of perioperative, endoscopy, ICU, or emergency department nursing experience.
• An active ACLS certification (required by start date).
• An active BLS certification (required by start date).
• Active licensure to work as a Registered Nurse in Washington State.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in behavioral health nursing.
• Certification in ECT or TMS procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to behavioral health patients receiving Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) under anesthesia.
• Provide nursing care to behavioral health patients receiving Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).
• Perform pre-admission intake assessments, including assessments of the patient's physical and psychological states.
• Call patients prior to their appointments with guidance on preparing for sedation.
• Monitor vital signs while patients are sedated.
• Help manage emergencies and complications while patients are sedated.
• Provide phase I and phase II anesthesia support.
• Prepare patients for discharge and home care.
• Promote efficient patient flow by assisting with phone triage and record keeping.
