About The Position

The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Neuro Operating Room at Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola. The role involves delivering professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures. The nurse will perform scrub functions, circulating functions, and directly assist the operating physician with surgical tasks. The schedule is full-time, consisting of four 10-hour shifts with call, during the day shift.

Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida required.
• Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition 'Compact State' obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Experienced Operating Room nurse; Neurosurgery, complex crani, and complex spine, DBS, pediatric neurosurgery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
• Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
