Neuro/Medical is a 36-bed Neuro medical and Intermediate Care nursing unit. As a mixed Neuro unit, care is rendered to a variety of intermediate care neuro patients and standard acute neuro patients including but not limited to: Lower to high acuity ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke patients, Patients post 25-hour from thrombolytic treatment, Patients requiring continuous EEG monitoring, Patients with other neurological disorders such as Guillain-Barre' Syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis, and ALS, Patients with hemodynamic instability needing antiarrhythmic, Chest tube care and management, Epidural/PCA management, Tracheostomy care.

  • Demonstrates competence in RN I performance expectations.
  • Serves as a highly engaged and full partner on the care team.
  • Leads interdisciplinary rounds to facilitate appropriateness of care.
  • Effectively applies the nursing process within the framework of the organization's professional model of care.
  • Demonstrates initiative and seeks opportunities to improve clinical practice.
  • Effectively delegates care while retaining accountability.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with all members of the healthcare team.
  • Creates an environment of open dialogue and continuous development.
  • Identifies opportunities for quality improvement.
  • Models safe work hours, time management, efficiency, and stewardship.
  • Supports unit-based shared governance activities.
  • Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia.
  • Associate's Degree, ADN or Diploma required.
  • At least 1 year of RN experience.
  • BSN preferred.
