About The Position

The Johns Hopkins Hospital's Nelson 6 is a 23-bed medical floor, with capacity for 12 patients in need of cardiac telemetry monitoring. RNs on the unit care for complex medical patients, specializing in pulmonary dysfunction (cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, Flolan management) and transplant (lung, kidney, and liver). Nurses can opt to cross-train into the MPCU and pick up shifts there after orientation. There is great teamwork on the unit, and staff enjoy teaching and learning from each other. They also love celebrating events together on and off the unit, such as potlucks, birthdays, and holidays. The RN's on this unit have the opportunity to cross train to our Medical Progressive Care Unit, which is a higher acuity unit that includes patients on ventilators and vasoactive drips. The Johns Hopkins Hospital has been at the forefront of discovery, innovation, and medical advances for over 125 years. Our reputation for excellence has earned us a spot on U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals list for over two decades. We believe that the commitment from our entire professional staff is one of the primary reasons we can continually set the standard of excellence in patient care, both in our community and around the world. Renowned for our specialty services and innovative clinical advances, we strive to make The Johns Hopkins Hospital an exceptional place to work, learn and advance your career.
