About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med/Surg unit is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care under the leadership of the Unit Manager, Clinical Coordinator, and Charge Nurse. This role involves planning, directing, assessing, and delivering nursing care in alignment with the mission and policies of Barstow Community Hospital. The RN is expected to demonstrate exceptional knowledge and skills while maintaining a high sense of responsibility for their practice.

Requirements

• Associates degree or higher in Nursing.
• Current California RN License (L-CA-RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (C-ARC-BLS).
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification (C-ARC-ALS).

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct nursing care for patients in the Med/Surg unit.
• Assess patient needs and develop appropriate care plans.
• Provide direct nursing care according to established protocols and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records.
