About The Position

The position is a key member of a patient-centric care delivery model aimed at providing high-quality service within an office setting. The role focuses on enhancing the patient experience through clinical and non-clinical support, ensuring adherence to care standards, and effectively utilizing information technology platforms to implement best practices and value-based care.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program.
  • Active Registered Nurse License in the state of assigned practices.
  • 1 year of relatable or equivalent experience.
  • ACLS and BLS certification.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and flexibly with hours to meet departmental needs.
  • Working knowledge of office-based regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with medical and administrative staff and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the provider and leadership to improve the patient experience through daily patient care and clerical support.
  • Prepare patients for visits by gathering baseline data, documenting reasons for the visit, and obtaining vitals/office testing.
  • Perform specific specialized tests such as pulmonary function tests and phlebotomy procedures as needed.
  • Ensure a safe patient experience by adhering to clinical protocols and reporting any equipment malfunctions or safety violations.
  • Determine equipment needs for clinician visits and set up exam rooms accordingly.
  • Assist clinicians with treatments, dressings, and other tasks as required.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, peers, and healthcare team members, responding to both verbal and non-verbal cues.
  • Document all patient encounters clearly and objectively, understanding the legal implications of charting.
  • May be assigned lab functions and draw blood as needed.
  • Assist leadership with ordering, maintaining, and monitoring office medications.
  • Triage phone calls and coordinate care for patients with providers and other specialties.
  • Provide personalized health advice and referrals for testing or preventive counseling.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that support ProMedica's core values.
