RN Registered Nurse - Lactation
About The Position
Provide lactation care and instruction to breastfeeding mothers and infants. Serve as a lactation-related clinical resource, educator, and mentor. Perform initial and on-going assessments of patients' lactation goals and issues. Instruct and demonstrate proper techniques and promotes the importance of breastfeeding. Identify the need for standard patient teaching plans and assist with their development. Act as a liaison to staff and physicians when addressing needs associated with breastfeeding. Contribute to the development of data tools to monitor and improve outcomes.
Requirements
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
Nice To Haves
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
- Consultant Certification specializing in Lactation credentialed from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) preferred.
- Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program preferred.
