About The Position

Full-Time Night Shift Positions available on our Combined Intensive Care Unit at Mount Carmel Grove City. The Intensive Care Unit at Mount Carmel Grove City is an 18-bed mixed medical/surgical unit. The unit is primarily comprised of medical patients and routinely provides care for surgical patients including the cardiothoracic population. Any critical care patient coming into the hospital comes to the unit giving nurses the chance to care for a wide variety of patients. The range of patients provides the ability for nurses to develop a broad skill set and to thrive in various situations. ICU nurses respond to sepsis, STEMI and stroke alerts as well as code blue calls throughout the hospital providing expanded opportunities to support the team and the patients each shift. Supported by the staff-led Professional Governance Committee, the MCGC ICU provides excellent care and compassion for the critically ill and their families. The Registered Nurse RN, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person's physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The Registered Nurse RN collaborates in the spirit of teamwork and is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization.

Requirements

• Graduate from school of nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• For Casual RNs, 2 years of experience is required.
• All new graduate nurses with less than one (1) year of clinical experience are subject to participate and will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®.
• Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence based practice.
• Collaborates with patient and family to develop and implement a plan of care that includes physical, spiritual and educational components.
• Accurately communicates pertinent information to appropriate team members in a timely manner.
• Keeps patient/family apprised/updated.
• Documents accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
• Assumes responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers as appropriate.
