About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age-specific groups. Utilizes the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the nursing department. This position actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Provides direct patient care in specialized departments such as cardiac care, monitoring patients during procedures/exercises for the detection of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities. Communicates with physicians about changes in the patient's clinical condition including laboratory tests, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology. Capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in condition and response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in related departments with adequate supervision. Participates in performance improvement and Kaizen activities, underlining a commitment to continuous improvement in patient care. Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient. Promotes the optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and relevant regulations. Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values. This role requires compliance with policies and procedures of the organization, performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned. All job responsibilities are subject to change as deemed necessary by the administration, and the essential duties of the position have been determined as of the effective date of this position description. This position description may be supplemented and/or modified as changes to the position occur.

Requirements

  • Associate's of Nursing
  • RN Registered Nurse State Licensure and or Compact State Licensure
  • BCLS Basic Life Support
  • ACLS

Responsibilities

  • Completes timely assessments per Practice Guidelines including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and life-style factors, including signs of abuse or neglect.
  • Makes appropriate decisions and interventions and nursing diagnoses according to patients actual or potential health conditions or needs.
  • Sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for the patient, assisting in the development and implementation of an individualized plan of care.
  • Prioritizes and completes follow up assessments, evaluates and modifies plan of care as needed.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess and interpret diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition.
  • Follows strict infection prevention precautions and adheres to policy and procedure regarding all aspects of medication safety.
  • Promotes an exceptional patient experience by fostering excellent nurse-patient relationships through effective communication.
  • Participates in practice changes, process improvement initiatives and completes all required education by the due date.
