  • Provide quality and professional nursing care for patients following established standards and practices.
  • Assess patient symptoms and communicate with physician regarding assessment.
  • Assist physician with in-office or out-of-town clinics.
  • Prepare patient for physician by assessing vital signs, problems or concerns, medications, etc.
  • Assess patient problems, answer questions, refill prescriptions.
  • Communicate to physician regarding patient status.
  • Respond to incoming telephone calls and assist patients with questions or problems to ensure their health and safety as needed.
  • Instruct patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions per Physician instructions.
  • Administer or assist with injections.
  • Assist with treadmill stress tests and monitor patient for arrhythmia, blood pressure, ECG changes, and report findings.
  • Assist Medical Assistant with all duties as needed.
  • Schedule hospital procedures/admissions and diagnostic testing as necessary.
  • Provide patient education.
  • Ensure pre-authorization of hospital admissions/procedures with insurance department.
  • Assist with hospital/facility rounds as directed by physician.
  • Gather chart data to communicate with respecting Physician.
  • Responsible for scribing within the presence of a physician discharge summaries and or progress notes.
  • Document thoroughly and accurately.
  • Communicate discharge information to the referring provider.
  • Review H&P with family members per Physician instruction.
  • Arrange follow-up testing and appointments as ordered.
  • May give verbal or telephone orders as specifically directed respecting Physician.
  • Maintain and review patient records, charts and other pertinent information.
  • Post tests and examinations results.
  • Removal of chest tubes - for cardiovascular surgical teams only.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse with current Oklahoma licensure.
  • Current BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of continuous experience in a clinic setting.
  • Cardiac experience preferred.
