The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients. In the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, you will have the opportunity to work primarily day shifts hours (10 or 12 hr), 1 call shift per week, every 5th weekend on call, and only 1-2 holiday call shifts per year! Nurses in our unit grow in their professional practice, gaining critical skills for the complex care of our cardiovascular patients. We accept all types of nursing backgrounds and are willing to train the specific critical care skills needed for this unit. We are known for our wonderful team approach, where providers, cardiac technologist, and nurses work closely together to deliver exceptional patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program required.
  • Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
  • Obtain and maintain required department specific competencies and certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to patients.
  • Perform left and right heart catheterizations with percutaneous intervention.
  • Conduct complex chronic total occlusion procedures.
  • Provide emergency care.
  • Assist in electrophysiology procedures (ablation, pacemaker, ICD and Bi-Ventricular implants).
  • Perform peripheral angiograms with intervention.
  • Conduct catheter-directed thrombolysis or thrombectomy for pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis.
  • Place IMPELLA heart pumps.
  • Place intra-aortic balloon pumps.
  • Perform structural heart procedures (Left atrial appendage closure, Mitral clip, Transcatheter aortic valve replacement).
