You will perform assessment and reassessment of the patient's physical condition and nursing needs in a Burn Care environment. Requirements

  • Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure.
  • Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred. ARNP also accepted.
  • American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
  • American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
  • American Heart Association PALS (Pediatric Life Support) and/or ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
  • Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) required within one year of hire/transfer.
  • One year of experience as RN in Wound Care or other specialty experience required.
  • Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions.
  • PC skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set goals, and take appropriate nursing action to meet those goals.
  • Ensure the patient's physical, emotional and rehabilitative needs are met.
  • Encourage patient involvement with their own care.
  • Maintain proactive and effective communication with the physician regarding patient observations, reactions and changes in patient condition or status.
  • Coordinate the patients care and identified needs with other services and departments throughout the hospital.
