About The Position

We are hiring for: RN / Registered Nurse / Behavioral Health Urgent Care / Night Shift Type: Regular. This position may be a member of a team that provides support, services, and treatments necessary to provide integrated care to individuals with behavioral health diagnosis or substance use disorders. Provides oversight and general nursing care and services to persons with behavioral health challenges in the community by performing the duties listed in this job description. Relies on education, skill, and judgment to provide quality services to the people we serve with limited direction and supervision. Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) is an outpatient program designed to provide a safe and comfortable environment for persons experiencing a mental health, substance use or developmental disability crisis. We have registered nurses on staff 24/7, an on-call physician, and other clinical support. Our goal is to provide holistic care and access to needed de-escalation, intervention, resolution and prevention services for people in crisis and those in need of substance use treatment.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with a minimum of an Associates Degree in Nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
  • Must meet the education, experience, licensure/certification requirements specified by the service definition of the service being provided.
  • Prefer one year of nursing experience.
  • Experience in behavioral health nursing preferred.
  • Some college training and/or management experience helpful.
  • Valid drivers license including personal vehicle insurance coverage.
  • Must maintain proficiency in company sponsored training and certifications and privileging if required.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing nursing assessment skills and knowledge to assess and monitor clients.
  • Participating in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment and responding to crises on a timely basis.
  • Following the supports and services as indicated in the recipients Crisis Plan.
  • Participating as a member of the interdisciplinary team, attending Person Centered Plan (PCP) meetings, developing plans as requested.
  • Complying with Controlled Substances policy and procedures in maintaining accurate inventories and controlled logs.
  • Monitoring consumers and taking appropriate action for side effects and adverse reactions to medications.
  • Assisting team members with assessing learning needs of the consumers and carrying out teaching as indicated.
  • Completing QA activities as requested and participating in the QA process.
  • Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, making recommendations for hiring, and training employees.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, motivating, disciplining and promoting team performance.
  • Ensuring license of other nursing staff is in good standing as appropriate.
