About The Position

Geisinger is proud to offer an Inpatient RN up to $24,000 hiring incentive for eligible candidates! $41 minimum hiring rate with increased rates for experienced individuals and up to $7 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts! The position involves assessing, planning, organizing, performing, and evaluating nursing activities to meet the needs of the patient. The RN promotes adaptive responses of patient and family to achieve the highest level of patient care, promotes safety, and maximizes patient satisfaction. The role requires compassionate care during patient-nurse interactions and coordination of patient care and staff interactions. The RN is responsible for ensuring the best patient and family experience by optimizing all interactions and completing assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards. The RN formulates, coordinates, and provides a plan of care, including patient and family education, and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to address the physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.

Requirements

  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania.
  • Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, organizes, performs, and evaluates nursing activities to meet patient needs.
  • Promotes adaptive responses of patient and family to achieve the highest level of patient care.
  • Exhibits compassionate care during patient-nurse interactions.
  • Coordinates patient care and interaction of staff.
  • Completes assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
  • Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family.
  • Formulates, coordinates, and provides plan of care including patient and family education.
  • Provides direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises plan of care based on patient response.
  • Initiates collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Participates in unit-based decision-making regarding evidence-based practice.
  • Actively participates in patient quality and safety education programs.
