The position involves assessing, planning, organizing, performing, and evaluating nursing activities to meet the needs of the patient. The RN promotes adaptive responses of patient and family to achieve the highest level of patient care, promotes safety, and maximizes patient satisfaction. The role requires compassionate care during patient-nurse interactions and coordination of patient care and staff interactions. The RN is responsible for ensuring the best patient and family experience by optimizing all interactions and completing assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards. The RN formulates, coordinates, and provides a plan of care, including patient and family education, and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to address the physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
