About The Position

The RN, Progressive Care delivers specialized nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring, complex assessments, and timely clinical interventions within a progressive care setting. This role manages patients with evolving medical conditions, supporting stabilization, early recognition of clinical deterioration, and safe transitions between levels of care. Working collaboratively with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members, the RN helps coordinate treatment plans that promote recovery and continuity of care. As part of a supportive, team-oriented environment, this position provides consistent communication, patient and family education, and advocacy to help individuals understand their condition and prepare for discharge or ongoing care.

Requirements

  • Current or temporary RN license in North Dakota or compact RN licensure.
  • BLS certification required within orientation period.
  • RN program as evidenced by licensure.
  • Official diploma or transcript from the school/university from where Degree was received.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty certification in area of practice is desirable.
  • Hospital experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive assessments and continuous monitoring of patients with moderate to high acuity needs, responding promptly to changes in clinical status.
  • Coordinate individualized care plans with providers and interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes and safe progression of care.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with established protocols and evaluate patient responses.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and care coordination activities within the electronic health record.
  • Collaborate with respiratory therapy, care management, and other departments to support complex care needs, diagnostic evaluations, and safe transitions.
  • Participate in quality, safety, and practice-improvement initiatives that enhance progressive care services and unit performance.
