About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Hermitage, TN on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide specialized care to patients who require close monitoring and advanced nursing interventions, bridging the gap between intensive care and general medical-surgical units. The ideal candidate has strong PCU or step-down experience, excels in high-acuity settings, and is committed to delivering safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Requirements

Current and valid RN license in Tennessee (or compact eligibility).
Minimum 1–2 years of recent PCU or step-down nursing experience in an acute care setting.
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills in high-acuity situations.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Compassionate and adaptable approach to patient care.
COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the PCU setting.
Monitor and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and other critical indicators, intervening promptly when necessary.
Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies, and treatments accurately and on time.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Educate patients and families about their health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient progress in the medical record.
Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and evidence-based practices in PCU nursing.
