In this role you will be responsible for developing and implementing clinical and simulation-based education, patient safety initiatives, and assessment activities at the unit or departmental level. The position serves as an educational leader, collaborating with faculty and staff to design evidence-based curricula, close knowledge gaps, and support quality improvement efforts. Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring education staff, fostering a safe learning environment, maintaining competency records, supporting regulatory readiness and error prevention, and aligning educational initiatives with organizational goals. The role also involves contributing to research activities, policy development, and staying current with emerging educational and simulation technologies. Requirements

  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related field.
  • Current State of Florida RN license required.
  • 5 years’ experience in pediatric or neonatal nursing, and 3 years’ experience in nursing education required.
  • Specialty nursing certification or Epic Credentialed Trainer required. Note: Epic Credentialed Trainer may be required based on the needs of the unit/department.
  • Nursing Professional Development Certification required within 1 year of hire and/or promotion.
  • Simulation Instructor training required within one year of hire and/or promotion.
  • Formal training in educational theory, instructional design, or teaching strategies required.
  • Experience evaluating educational outcomes required.
  • Previous clinical, research, patient safety, and/or teaching experience required.
  • Experience in designing and implementing educational programs required.
  • Ability to perform in a team leader role.
