Provides direct patient care in the endoscopy setting using the nursing process. Is responsible for managing the care of assigned patients and coping with rapid patient turnover. Is knowledgeable in the principles of gastrointestinal endoscopy, responsible for the safe and efficient utilization of the endoscopy department. Demonstrates the ability to assist the physician, and responsible for the safety of the patient before, during, and after the procedure. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient being served. Performs all duties and maintains all standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program or will obtain prior to working as a RN
  • Current Georgia RN or a multi-state license meeting eNLC criteria professional licensure or will obtain prior to beginning work as a RN. BLS CPR required
  • Two to three years medical or surgical nursing preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and interpret pertinent information in terms of the patients needs that are age appropriate.
  • Ability to select proper instrumentation and supplies for age group of patient being served.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other associates throughout the organization in to provide excellent and maintain effective working relationships.
