About The Position

As our RN Procedural Periop, you will provide high-quality, skilled nursing services essential for assisting patients to achieve optimum health, functional status, and safe passage through invasive or interventional procedures during episodic or series of visits. You will leverage your expertise across multiple dimensions of nursing practice, driven by the unique and often complex needs of each patient, ensuring optimal outcomes through effective nurse and patient synergies. Every day you will utilize the nursing process through: Skilled assessment Triage Education Collaboration Coordination of healthcare and community resources to support patients in achieving an optimal level of wellness throughout their procedural experience. This may involve demonstrating technical expertise in areas such as Periop, PACU, and other procedural settings, while continuously assisting patients, families, staff, and systems to achieve high-quality, evidence-based, cost-effective, and patient-focused outcomes by integrating knowledge, skills, experience, and attitudes. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate clinical proficiency in procedural and potentially Periop/PACU environments. You will exhibit exceptional assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills, coupled with a deep understanding of patient needs across the health-to-illness continuum, and a commitment to providing patient-centered, safe, and effective care.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
  • Current Washington state licensure as an RN
  • CPR certification is required every two years
  • ACLS
  • PALS (depending on location)
  • Minimum of two to three (2-3) years of recent, direct clinical experience in a perioperative setting (PACU, Operating Room, Pre-Op/Pre-Admission Testing, or Interventional Procedural areas)
  • Strong patient assessment skills, ability to work collaboratively in team setting, current working knowledge of electronic medical records.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty certifications such as Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN), Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA), Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA), or Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
