Cleveland Clinic Florida has ambulatory/outpatient surgery centers that allow patients to have surgery, recover briefly and then return home to complete their recovery, while also receiving ongoing care at their local family health center. As an RN on the team, you will care for pre- and post-operative patients as assigned, including preparing and turning over bays, conducting pre- and post-op phone calls and ensuring smooth patient transitions throughout the surgical process. In this role, you can make a difference in the lives of patients and families every day, all while enhancing your nursing skills through extensive hands-on experience, nursing committees, and advanced education opportunities.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of acute care RN experience in a hospital setting OR licensed military RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Two years of recent clinical nurse experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
  • Care for pre- and post-operative patients as assigned, including preparing and turning over bays, conducting pre- and post-op phone calls and ensuring smooth patient transitions throughout the surgical process.
