About The Position
Pre-operative Education RN opportunity in beautiful Hamilton, Montana!! Bitterroot Health is seeking candidates to fill a Pre-operative Education RN position in our Surgical Services Dept. The Pre-op RN provides pre-op teaching and education for patients on the surgical procedure they have scheduled, performs an initial pre-operative assessment of the patient, obtains necessary patient information (H & P, pre-operative orders, previous medical records, consent) prior to the patient’s pre-operative appointed, coordinates ordered pre-operative testing, (Lab, EKG), and obtains results, and communicate abnormal values and/0r patient condition to applicable caregiver/provider.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing BSN or ADN
- Current Montana or compact license per Montana State Board of Nursing Regulations. License in good standing without disciplinary action or investigation.
- Current BLS with ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.
- Knowledge and retention of preoperative testing needs and guidelines

- Preferred 2 years of work experience in Surgical Services
