The Registered Nurse (RN) in Preadmission Testing at Advocate South Suburban Hospital is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout their care continuum. This role involves monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to achieve positive outcomes, all while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety. The RN will participate in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to implement evidence-based practices and continuously evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes. Key duties include safe administration of medications, treatments, and therapies according to clinical protocols, demonstrating effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, and fostering team collaboration through appropriate delegation to other nursing personnel. The position requires adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics, ethical decision-making, and maintaining accurate, timely EHR documentation. The RN must also be prepared to float to other units or facilities within the designated service area as needed and demonstrate age-specific care knowledge.
