About The Position

This is a Full Time, benefited 12 hour varied mid/evening shift at our Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. The role is as a RN in PreOp - PACU but you will mostly work in PACU. The shift will start between 0800-1000. There is weekend and on call requirement. Requirements

  • One (1) year of recent RN experience in an acute care setting within PreOp PACU or ICU
  • California Registered Nurse License
  • Current BLS, ACLS from American Heart Association certifications
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Telemetry experience
  • 2 + years of PACU experience

Responsibilities

  • pre-anesthesia preparation and observation and maintenance during the procedure
  • monitoring and caring for patients are they are coming out of sedation after surgery.
  • Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.
