About The Position

USPI Texas Precision Surgery Center is seeking a motivated RN Pre Admissions to join our team. We have 2 OR rooms and 1 Treatment room. With outpatient services performed in Ophthalmology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day. Job Summary: The Pre Admissions Nurse is responsible for the teamwork and coordination of nursing care to include the collection and analysis of assessment data in determining nursing diagnosis, identification of expected outcomes and development of plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members as appropriate. The Pre Admissions Nurse identifies interventions to attain expected outcomes, implements the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluates the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and documents the process. This care includes sensitivity to age specific and unique needs of the patient/family.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum 2-year experience in a hospital setting.
  • Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, physicians, vendors and the public.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptiveness to change, creativity and innovation.
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly.
  • Strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient.
  • Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation.
  • Excellent teaching skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnosis.
  • Identify expected outcomes and develop a plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Identify interventions to attain expected outcomes.
  • Implement the interventions identified in the plan of care.
  • Evaluate the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes.
  • Document the nursing process and care provided.
