Join our team as a Post Partum RN in the Birthplace at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital! We support not only women in our culturally diverse community, but also support women across the state whom may need additional attention due to a high risk pregnancy or fetal diagnosis. With our partnership with the University of MN, the Birthplace supports the development of student nurses and residents through onsite observation and training. This addition also helps continue to improve our evidence based practice and ongoing professional learning! Newborn Family Care Center-Postpartum: 24 beds Mom/Baby private rooms Couplet Care, average of 3 couplets day/evening shift, 4 couplets night shift. Care delivery team: RN and NST/NA. Professional growth encouraged in professional certifications and/or IBCLC. Inpatient Lactation Consultant on unit. Newborn IV antibiotic administration. This position will be working 64 hours every two weeks on the night shift, 8 hour shifts and every other weekend. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate
