A caregiver in this role will work within a dedicated Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) that does not float outside the department. With three PACUs across different buildings, you will have the opportunity to care for a wide variety of surgical cases and critical care patients, excluding cardiac, vascular, and transplant procedures. Our PACUs support all other specialties—including General Surgery, ENT, Plastics, GYN, GU, Orthopedics, Livers and more—offering a dynamic and diverse clinical experience. As an RN in this collaborative team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals recovering from anesthesia, while also accessing professional growth opportunities such as a PeriAnesthesia Essentials Class for new caregivers, PeriAnesthesia Nursing Certification and Nursing Grand Rounds. Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. This is a full-time position. A caregiver in this role works a total of 36 hours per week between 11:00am to 11:30pm. Call rotations are required with a call window of 1 hour. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
