About The Position

EvergreenHealth’s Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) located on our Kirkland, main campus provides intensive, compassionate rehabilitation for patients recovering from life‑changing injuries and illnesses. Our 14‑bed inpatient unit delivers individualized, goal‑driven care designed to help patients regain independence and safely return home as soon as possible. Adult patients of all ages rely on our Rehabilitation Medicine program to recover from complex medical conditions, including: Brain and spinal cord injuries Neurological diseases Multiple trauma Complex burns Organ transplants Cancer Pulmonary, cardiac, and renal conditions Debility following major medical or surgical events We are an interdisciplinary group dedicated to enriching the health and wellbeing of every patient we serve. Our collaborative care team includes: Rehab Physicians 24/7 Nursing staff Licensed Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists Rehabilitation Psychologists Social Workers

Requirements

  • Graduate of a nursing program (Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required)
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
  • Assesses the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
  • Coordinates the patient and family/significant other education process.
  • Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, incorporating patient and family/significant other into the process
  • Participates with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family/significant other plan of care
  • Communicates effectively all relevant information (e.g., patient information, safety issues, problems with equipment, quality issues, etc.) to immediate supervisor, in timely way
  • Communicates and documents changes in patient condition, on a timely basis, to charge nurse/supervisor and physician
