In this role you will be assisting with sedation procedures, administering chemotherapy and biotherapy, administering blood product transfusion, and patient education. We care for children, adolescents and young adults with oncology and non-oncology diagnosis. Infusion nurses are also cross-trained to clinic roles, and telephone triage. Schedule would consist of 8 hour day shifts. Shifts are 7:45AM- 5:00PM with no evening shifts, weekends or holiday commitment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program required.
• Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring.
• Possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
• Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific licensure, competencies and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to infusion patients.
• Performing age related patient assessment and intervention as well as scheduling tests and interventions per provider order.
• Collaborating with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Demonstrating competency and practicing within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge.
• Utilizing appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting.
