About The Position

Adelphi is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide nursing services in a school setting located in San Antonio, Texas. The ideal candidate will work closely with school administration and healthcare teams to support medically fragile students and provide nursing services in accordance with established guidelines and standards of practice. Requirements

  • Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Recent pediatric nursing experience (minimum of two (2) years)
  • Experience working with medically fragile children preferred
  • Ability to travel between campuses if assigned to multiple students
  • Ability to recognize respiratory distress and initiate emergency care
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one nursing care for medically fragile students as assigned
  • Support students requiring specialized medical procedures and monitoring
  • Provide campus clinic coverage and assist with general student health needs
  • Support school field trips requiring nursing services
  • Monitor student health conditions and administer medications as prescribed
  • Recognize signs of respiratory distress and perform emergency interventions
  • Perform procedures such as tracheostomy care, nebulizer treatments, suctioning, catherization, vagal nerve stimulator, and emergency airway management when needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services and student health records
  • Collaborate with school nurses, teachers, and school administrators
  • Ensure compliance with district policies, Texas Nurse Practice Act, and healthcare standards
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and school health initiatives
  • Maintain a professional relationship with students, staff and families in accordance with District Policy.
  • Any other duties as assigned
