About The Position

Logan Health Children's has an opportunity for a PRN RN to be part of their inpatient pediatrics team! Our facility, nestled in the stunning surroundings of Kalispell, Montana, is home to a 12-bed Pediatric Unit. Logan Health Children’s was created to provide local access to high quality pediatric specialty care close to home, including the largest group of fellowship-trained pediatric specialists in the state. Our underwater themed environment offers child-friendly architectural and interior design that engages imagination. Kalispell is located in the heart of the beautiful Flathead Valley, offering unparalleled outdoor recreation and stunning Rocky Mountain views.

Requirements

  • Current Montana RN license or a multi-state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana.
  • BSN degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar position within a medical setting preferred.
  • Possess knowledge of professional nursing theory, medical terminology, and principles of professional nursing practice.
  • Healthcare Provider (HCP) CPR and/or BLS certification required.
  • Understanding of confidentiality laws that govern the provider-patient relationship, including HIPAA guidelines.
  • Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and instruments used in a medical office.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, self-starter, possess critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess considerable knowledge of the behavior and needs of patients.
  • Maintain computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements and coordinates individualized, goal directed nursing care to patients through the use of the nursing process.
  • Maintains nursing standards of care and responds to changing workloads and patient conditions.
  • Transcribes and implements provider orders and treatments accurately and efficiently.
  • Consistently problem solves issues affecting patient care.
  • Exhibits a thorough practice of infection control procedures.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and reports changes in the physical and mental conditions of patients.
  • Documents all encounters with patients seeking health advice according to organizational standards.
  • Provides individual instruction and education to patients and families concerning health and medical needs.
  • Assesses and anticipates the needs of the patient, coordinating necessary interventions.
