On our team, you will provide stellar care at one of the top healthcare organizations in the nation. Fairview Hospital's Pediatric Emergency Department provides care to infants, children, adolescents and young adults who are suffering from acute illnesses, asthma, complex illnesses, dehydration, infections, lacerations, minor to complex bone, tissue injuries, organ injuries and seizures. As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. A caregiver in this role works evenings + on-call shifts from 1:00 p.m. - 1:30 a.m. with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of hire
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within 24 months of hire
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Peds or ED background

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
