The M43/M53 Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides comprehensive care to children of all ages, including medical/surgical, transplant-related, congenital heart, and chemotherapy services. M43 functions as a 15-bed Pediatric Cardiac ICU with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2, primarily caring for post-surgical cardiac patients, general pediatrics overflow, transplant candidates, and post-transplant patients. The unit also manages MICU and pediatric overflow cases as needed. Adjacent to this, M40 serves as a stepdown unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3–4:1, supporting continued recovery and transition from intensive care. Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. A caregiver in this position works a day/night rotation from 7:00AM – 7:30PM or 7:00PM – 7:30AM.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
One year of current Acute Care RN experience OR military RN experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
