About The Position

Build your Career. Make a Difference. Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a skilled RN to join our Pediatric Hematology Oncology team. In this role, you will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. Responsible for prioritizing the delivery of direct nursing care using time and resources efficiently integrating a standards-based framework model. Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
  • BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire

Responsibilities

  • Administer chemotherapy and other cancer treatments safely and accurately
  • Monitor for side effects and complications, including reactions to chemotherapy, transfusions, or disease progression
  • Assess vital signs, symptoms, and overall patient status throughout treatment
  • Manage central lines (e.g., ports, PICC lines) and maintain strict infection‑control practices
  • Provide supportive care such as pain management, hydration, and symptom relief
  • Care for children with blood disorders such as sickle cell disease, hemophilia, anemia, and clotting disorders
  • Administer blood products and monitor transfusion reactions
  • Educate families on managing chronic hematologic conditions
