About The Position

Work Schedule: 85% FTE, day/evening shift. Operational hours of the Cath Lab/EP lab are 6:00am to 7:00pm. Required on-call responsibilities for off hours will include weekends and holidays with a 60-minute response time. We offer a competitive starting pay; relevant work experience will be considered. We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to work onsite in both our Peds Cath Lab at AFCH and Adult EP Lab at University Hospital: Be an integral member of a talented multidisciplinary team working together to deliver quality care to pediatric patients, from neonatal to young adulthood, undergoing cardiovascular procedures and diagnostic cardiac catheterization in our hybrid cath lab at American Family Children’s Hospital (AFCH). You will also work in our main cardiac EP lab at University Hospital caring for a wide range of patients from young adult to geriatric. Practice in an environment that focuses on patient and family centered care. Be highly engaged in acquiring new skills and integrating evidence-based nursing practices into the unit culture. Enjoy participating in shared governance, with a unit-based council, to help support and drive quality improvement initiatives and lead practice change. Preferred candidates will have pediatric experience and inpatient ICU level nursing experience or prior cath lab nursing experience. Requirements

  • 2 years of recent nursing experience in a Cardiovascular ICU, Critical Care ICU or Emergency Department Required
  • 1 year of recent nursing experience in a Cardiovascular ICU, Critical Care ICU or Emergency department and at least one (1) year of cardiovascular or med/surg nursing experience. Required
  • 1 year of recent Cardiovascular Laboratory and/or Electrophysiology Laboratory nursing experience AND previous moderate sedation experience Required
  • Registration as a professional nurse in the State of Wisconsin Upon Hire Required
  • BLS/ACLS certification Upon Hire Required

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred candidates will have pediatric experience and inpatient ICU level nursing experience or prior cath lab nursing experience.
  • Cardiovascular Laboratory and/or Electrophysiology Laboratory nursing experience Preferred
  • Previous Nursing experience with an emphasis on cardiovascular patient care Preferred
  • CCRN, CVN, PCCN, RCES Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
