About The Position

Where You’ll Work The Progressive Care Unit at St. Francis is a 33 bed unit, proudly being the primary stroke unit, along with a focus in cardiac and sepsis care. You will have the opportunity to build on your education and experiences in areas such as cardiac, telemetry, neurology, sepsis, and surgical care. St. Francis Medical Center, the only Magnet designated hospital in Grand Island, NE is a non-profit facility providing quality health care to patients and communities. St. Francis was established in Grand Island Neb. in 1887. Today our hospital is a regional referral center with more than 100 physicians and more than 1100 employees working together to build a healthier community. Our goal is to provide patients with high-quality medical care close to home where they can be supported by their family friends and community. #CHIMSRES22 Job Summary and Responsibilities As our PCU Nurse at St. Francis Medical Center , now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health, you will help critically ill patients by providing exceptional care, monitoring and managing their conditions, and administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians. Collaborate with physicians and nursing team to devise and implement individualized care plans for patients. Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation Educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits, while fostering a supportive and compassionate environment. Incentives: up to $15,000 sign on bonus, up to $10,000 education assistance (must have graduated within 5 years) Nurse Residency: offered for all New Graduates

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska or nurse licensure compact.
  • Basic life support through American Heart Association is required upon hire.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required within 5 months of hire.
