About The Position

The PCU Registered Nurse position at AdventHealth Port Charlotte involves delivering coordinated nursing care for patients within a patient care unit. This role includes day-to-day management and supervision of clinical activities, ensuring quality patient care is provided. The position is part of the AdventHealth StaffFlex program, which allows for flexible contract assignments across multiple facilities in 9 states. The schedule is from 6:45 PM to 7 AM, and the length of the contract is 20 weeks. StaffFlex team members have the opportunity to work across various units, including OR, while being part of a community that values the holistic care of individuals.

Requirements

• Associates Degree from an accredited school
• Graduate of an approved nursing program
• Active State Registered Nurse License
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current AHA Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current AHA NIHSS certification

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates effective assessment skills to ensure quality patient care is provided.
• Performs and documents accurate initial assessment per unit standard, including initial observation and obtaining information regarding patients' needs.
• Observes and monitors patient lab work for trends and reports abnormal lab tests to the appropriate physician.
• Utilizes clinical data to implement appropriate interventions.
• Performs and documents ongoing patient assessment reflecting patients' physical and mental status according to unit standards.
• Initiates use of restraints per hospital policy and procedures, demonstrating commitment to safe alternatives.
