About The Position

The PCU Registered Nurse will be part of AdventHealth's StaffFlex program, which allows for flexible contract assignments at one facility or the opportunity to float within multiple hospitals across 9 states. This role is designed for individuals who want the freedom to travel while adhering to the mission of AdventHealth. The position involves delivering coordinated nursing care for patients within a patient care unit and managing day-to-day clinical activities. The schedule for this position is from 6:45 AM to 7 PM, with a contract length of 20 weeks at AdventHealth Port Charlotte.

Requirements

• Associates Degree from an accredited school
• Graduate of an approved nursing program
• Active State Registered Nurse License
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current AHA Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current AHA NIHSS certification

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates effective assessment skills to ensure quality patient care is provided.
• Performs and documents accurate initial assessment per unit standard, including initial observation and obtaining information regarding patients' needs.
• Observes and monitors patient lab work for trends and reports abnormal lab tests to the appropriate physician.
• Utilizes clinical data to implement appropriate interventions.
• Performs and documents ongoing patient assessment reflecting patients' physical and mental status according to unit standards.
• Initiates use of restraints per hospital policy and procedures, demonstrating commitment to safe alternatives prior to application.
