About The Position

Empowering Recovery: Registered Nurse (RN) - Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Are you a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse passionate about behavioral health and making a lasting impact on patients' lives? Join our dedicated team at St. Alexius' Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and play a crucial role in guiding individuals toward recovery and improved mental well-being. This role focuses on the behavioral health and case management aspects of patient care, where you will: Collaborate within a supportive team: Work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment. Share your expertise and learn from others in a dynamic team setting. Provide expert case management: Act as a primary point of contact for patients, coordinating their care across various settings and providers. This includes facilitating communication with family members, community resources, and other healthcare professionals. Conducts utilization review: Act as a liaison with insurance companies by completing utilization review to ensure coverage for the patients programming. This includes documenting review findings, communicating with payers and other healthcare providers, discharge planning, and facilitating timely and appropriate transitions of care. Conduct thorough assessments and interventions: Utilize your clinical skills to conduct comprehensive assessments, identify potential risks, and implement appropriate interventions to address patient needs and prevent crises. Develop and implement individualized care plans: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and execute comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and goals. This includes assessing patients' mental health status, identifying treatment priorities, and coordinating care across various disciplines. Champion patient advocacy and empowerment: Advocate for patients' rights and needs, ensuring they receive the best possible care and support. Empower patients to actively participate in their treatment and recovery journey. Medication management and monitoring: Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and educate patients and their families about medication side effects and management. You'll play a vital role in ensuring medication safety and efficacy.

Requirements

  • Nursing degree from an approved School of Nursing
  • License to practice professional nursing in the State of North Dakota
  • One year preferably in a mental health setting
  • Working knowledge of basic clinical skills in delivery of patient care.
  • Must be able to communicate, maintain records, and develop reports.
  • Must be able to use a computer, keyboard and telephone.
  • Good communication skills are necessary because of the constant communication, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors and medical center staff.
  • Accountable for own conduct.
  • Promotes and supports positive working relationships among staff, between other disciplines, departments, families, visitors, and patients.
  • Maintains confidentiality
  • Ability to move light weights.
  • Ability to move freely throughout the medical center.
  • Ability to implement non-violent crisis intervention skills
  • Days and evenings, depending on program assignment.
  • Variable work hours as need arises.
  • Limited exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
  • Limited exposure to infectious diseases.
  • Able to perform effectively in emergency and stressful situations.
