About The Position

Regions is seeking a Paramedic to join our MRCC department. The Paramedic Access Center position will be the initial contact for all HP (HealthPartners) Direct admissions and consultations. HP Direct has been identified by senior leadership as a critical function in support of strategic hospital growth. Paramedic Access Center position is required to provide prompt and courteous customer service at all times. In the position, must be able to communicate effectively with physicians from outside organizations to physicians at Regions Hospital to provide patient consultation and/or patient admission. This role is responsible for triage of all HP Direct patients to ensure a proper physician connection. The Paramedic Access Center position will be the initial point of contact for critical admissions such as Cath Lab Activations, Trauma Team Activations or Code Gray admission for stroke patients. The Paramedic Access Center position will receive patient information from ambulance services within the metro area, greater Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. This patient information will be communicated to the receiving hospital or medical facility. This role will use multiple communication tools to communicate with different medical agencies. The Paramedic Access Center position will conduct themselves in a professional manner with a high emphasis on customer service. The Paramedic Access Center position will provide quality assurance for the Regions Hospital EMS program and will identify areas for quality improvement. Will participate in research and quality assurance/improvement activities as requested. This position will have a vital role in the management of a Multiple Casualty Incident, therefore will need to gather information and pass that information on to participating agencies. Work Schedule: 0.6 Nights 7p-7a Every 3rd Weekend.

Requirements

  • Two years as a paramedic responding to 911 calls required.
  • Current State of MN certification as a paramedic.
  • Current ACLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of accredited Paramedic program preferred.
  • Five years as a paramedic responding to 911 calls is preferred.
  • Previous EMS communications experience or EMS teaching experience preferred.
  • Current employment with an East Metro Advanced Life Support ambulance services desired.
