RN - PACU - Casual Status- Mercy Chula Vista
About The Position
This is a 12-hour varied shift RN position on Casual status (also known as Per Diem) in the PACU department at Mercy Chula Vista. The role requires a minimum availability of one shift per month, with possible weekend and call shifts. The initial training schedule will be full-time before transitioning to casual status. The RN will be responsible for patient care assessments, planning and implementing care, evaluating patient progress, and taking primary responsibility for patient care, working collaboratively with the Care Team.
Requirements
- One (1) year of recent RN experience in an acute care setting within critical care or PACU
- California Registered Nurse License
- Current BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
- Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
- Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- 2 years PACU and pre-surgical evaluation experience
- Spanish speaking
- EPIC Experience
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care assessments
- Plan and implement a plan of care
- Evaluate patients' progress towards expected outcomes
- Take primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team
- Work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care
