In this crucial role in our Surgical Services Division, you will use your skills to support our mission for providing stellar healthcare services for our pediatric orthopedic patients. You will be supported by an amazing team of dedicated health professionals here at Shriners Children's Lexington. Our surgical team delivers amazing care and successful outcomes to our patients, and your critical nursing skills and talent would be welcome here. And, you would have a work schedule that has no nights, no holidays and no weekends! Requirements

  • Associate's degree in nursing (ADN)
  • RN license in state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), PEAR, ACLS required within 1 year of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN)
  • 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care hospital
  • Pediatric and/or orthopedic experience

Responsibilities

  • Involves patient, family, and health care team members in formulating an appropriate individualized plan of care and identifies expected outcomes based on nursing assessment and diagnosis.
  • Implements the plan of care in partnership with the patient, family, and health care team members.
  • Ensures all components of the plan of care are documented in the patient health record.
  • Evaluates the patient/family's understanding of and response to the plan of care.
  • Utilizes teaching strategies appropriate to the individual patient's condition and learning needs.
  • This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
